THE FLAT TAX: Communists are more Conservative than Republicans

Why do "Conservatives" give us Marxism and Marxists give us Capitalism and Free Markets?

Republican Socialism

"The really big fortune, the swollen fortune, by the mere fact of its size, acquires qualities which differentiate it in kind as well as in degree from what is possessed by men of relatively small means.
Therefore, I believe in a graduated income tax on big fortunes, and in another tax which is far more easily collected and far more effective, a graduated inheritance tax on big fortunes, properly safeguarded against evasion, and increasing rapidly in amount with the size of the estate."

- - - - Theodore Roosevelt

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need."  This has been the unwritten plank of the Republican Party Platform since 1901.

A little known fact is Marxism, a centralized Big Brother Government and the re-distribution of wealth were enacted into law by the Republican Party.  It was not just that "crazy" Theodore Roosevelt.  Almost the entire Republican Party was adopting Karl Marx as official policy.  The Progressive Era saw the beginnings of the centralization of power in Washington D.C. and the growth of the Big Brother state.
Senator Nelson Aldrich
GOP Majority Leader and
author of the income tax

In 1909 at the urging of President William Howard Taft the Republican controlled Congress passed the 16th Amendment to the Constitution bringing the progressive income tax and the Marxist re-distribution of wealth to America.

The progressive income tax was pure vote buying.  The vast mass of voters would not have to pay the tax.  The Republican written 16th Amendment made the targets of the tax the upper middle classes and the rich.  Class warfare.  Take the wealth of the producing class and re-distribute it to those who the politicians feel are worthy to get it.  All to buy the votes of those who were not taxed.

Republican Socialism.

But the income tax is just one area.  As the Federal government has grown Republicans have voted to support, defend and fund just about every government program and agency in existance.

The Republican Party has never looked back.  The Square Deal, the New Deal, the Great Society to George Bush's massive spending on "Compassionate Conservatism" it did not matter.  The GOP adopted all vote buying programs as their own.  At election time they ran for office as the good government managers of the Big Brother state.  Vote Republican for a "kinder and genteler" Federal Master.

That brings us to the a modern America that looks more like a bankrupt Socialist Greece than the free capitalist nation of William McKinley.

Communists for Capitalism

Why is it that former Communists believe in the flat income tax and the American Republican Party opposes it at every opportunity?

The simple answer is the Communists saw close up that Socialism simply does not work.  Communists moved rapidly to adopt Capitalism, free markets as well as a simple flat income tax.

Prime Minister Andrus Ansip
of Estonia
LITHUANIA:   This formerly Communist state has adopted a flat 21% personal income tax.  Unemployment has declined and tax revenues have increased.  Lithuania had the highest economic growth rate amongst all candidate and member countries, reaching 8.8%.  In 2004 – 7.4%; 2005 – 7.8%; 2006 – 7.8%; 2007 – 8.9%, 2008  – 7.0% growth in GDP reflects the impressive economic development.

Corporate tax rate in Lithuania is 15% and 5% for small businesses.

ESTONIA:   Prime Minister Andrus Ansip was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.   But today he is leader of the Libertarian, Classical Liberal, free market Estonian Reform Party.  This former Communist has brought Estonia a flat 21% tax.

According to Eurostat published at 15 November 2010, Estonia has the lowest ratio of government debt to GDP among EU counties as 7.2 percent at the end of 2009.

President Traian Băsescu
of Romania

A balanced budget, almost non-existent public debt, flat-rate income tax, free trade regime, competitive commercial banking sector, innovative e-Services and even mobile-based services are all hallmarks of Estonia's free-market-based economy.

ROMANIA:   President Traian Basescu was a member of the Romanian Communist Party and knew all about the Marxist re-distribution of wealth.

Now this former Communist and his free market Democratic Liberal Party have enacted a flat income tax of 16% for individuals and business.

HUNGARY:   The former Communist nation of Hungary adopted a 16% flat tax in 2011.

RUSSIA:   Free market reforms have propelled a bankrupt nation to number 11 in the world in GDP.  Russia has adopted a form of the flat tax system.

OTHER NATIONS:   These formerly Communist nations have adopted tax systems that are commonly described in the media and the professional economics literature as a flat tax:   Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Serbia and the Ukraine.

Right-Wing Socialism

While ex-Communists are doing a 100 yard dash toward Adam Smith and freedom, the American Republican Party is stuck in FDR's New Deal era of centralized Big Brother Government.

CENTER-RIGHT SOCIALISM:   Conservative parties
around the world have adopted Marxism and Big
Brother Government in order to buy
votes at election time.

Republicans have become Right-Wing Socialists.
  • Pro-Business
  • Pro-Private Property
  • Pro-Religion
  • Pro-Centralized Big Brother State
  • Pro-Marxist re-distribution of the wealth
  • Pro-Cradle to Grave welfare state
The Republicans are not alone in this strange political hybrid that I call Right-Wing Socialism.

The Conservative Party in both Canada and the UK have embraced all the above elements of government.  The same is true for Germany's Christian Democrats or France's Union for a Popular Movement.

The fact of the matter is Big Brother Socialism has won the war of ideas.  No Conservative party wants to abolish Socialist programs or the progressive Marxist income tax.

Where is the American Flat Tax?

If the Republican Party really believes in small government then where is our own flat income tax?

The GOP controlled Congress for 12 years but never passed the tax or cut spending.  Today they control the House and nothing is being done about abolishing the insane tax code or the progressive income tax.

There are only two reasons why a flat tax has not passed a GOP controlled House:

OPTION ONE:    They are incompetent boobs.

OPTION TWO:   They do not want to pass it.

Personally I hold out for option #2.   Based on the big spending, Big Brother programs they support the Republicans are basically radical New Deal Leftists.  They want Big Government programs and a Byzantine labyrinth tax code in order to buy votes every two years.   The Marxist progressive income tax provides them the money and leverage over people and businesses needed to buy those votes.
