Republican attacks the 1st Amendment to protect spying on the American people

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to
petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
First Amendment
Bill of Rights

Question of the Day  -  "Do Republican legislators know how to read?"

Apparently not, since they do not understand the words in the 1st Amendment.

It is a proven fact that Socialist Democrats are not just illiterate but also fucking lunatics.  But I always expect more from the GOP and I am disappointed again and again.

What we have before us is the phoniness of the "small government" Republican Party on display for any open minded person to see.  The GOP created and votes to fund the current 1984 surveillance state.

Now we have the GOP former Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security wanting to rip up the 1st Amendment and punish the press for daring to print stores that are not approved by the All-Powerful-State.

Reichsführer Peter King

Republican Congressman Peter King says reporters who publish information that’s deemed classified should be punished.

King, a New York Republican, made the comment during a discussion on CNN about National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden and the information that’s been leaked to The Guardian newspaper.

“If they willingly knew that this was classified information, I think actions should be taken, especially on something of this magnitude,”   King said, as The Hill reported.

“There is an obligation both moral, but also legal, I believe, against a reporter disclosing something which would so severely compromise national security.”

King added, “Too many Republicans and conservatives have become Michael Moores, and I think it’s really dangerous to our country.”   (National Review)

King is currently chairman of the House Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence.

He didn’t detail in The Hill report what that punishment should entail. But some in Congress see  Snowden as guilty of treason.  House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, recently called  Snowden, a former CIA analyst, a traitor, and the Justice Department is debating whether to try to extradite him from Hong Kong, where he’s fled.
