The Walking Dead gains 4.16 million viewers

The "Ratings" are no longer the Ratings

  • Technology and the Internet have totally changed how we choose to entertain ourselves. In this case over 4 million fans did not bother to view The Walking Dead on Sunday night. People now want to watch shows when they want to, not when the networks want to present it to us.
  • I know that I spend more time watching Netflix than any of the networks.

(TV by the Numbers)  -  The two biggest delayed-viewing shows on cable kept hold of their spots in the week of Oct. 23.
“The Walking Dead” gained 2.0 points in adults 18-49 and 4.16 million viewers with seven days of playback, not far from the gains for its premiere a week earlier (2.2 and 4.28 million). “American Horror Story: Cult” finished second in both measures, adding 1.4 points to its initial 18-49 rating and 2.56 million viewers.
The third-place finishers in 18-49 gain (“South Park,” “Gold Rush” and “The Real Housewives of New Jersey”) picked up less than half the total for “AHS.” In viewers, No. 3 “Gold Rush” was more than a million behind the bump for “AHS.”
Here are the top cable shows in the Live +7 rankings for Oct. 23-29, 2017. Rankings include original series, movies and specials only, not repeats.
